About

About Zaacsyn.

Zaacsyn is a small engineering company. We build Zacsync for teams that manage MikroTik routers on remote sites, where most tools assume the link is cheap and the hardware is close by.

Why

Why we built it

Two problems come up again and again on remote sites. Management tools that check every router on a schedule use traffic the site pays for, which adds up fast on a satellite link. And a configuration change that drops the management tunnel can leave a router unreachable until someone gets to it, which for a ship can mean waiting until it reaches port.

Both can be prevented by a tool that keeps traffic to a minimum and assumes any change could lock you out. Zacsync is designed around those two ideas.

How we build

Our approach

01

Self-hosting stays fully supported

The hosted beta is there for those who want it, but self-hosting will remain a fully supported option, not a lesser version. Keeping your router credentials on your own server is a valid long-term choice.

02

We publish what isn't built yet

Router-side hotspot setup is still done by hand. Router configuration backups on the hub are not yet encrypted at rest. Billing, licence keys and passkeys aren't available yet. These limits are listed on this website and in the README.

03

MikroTik only, for now

Zacsync's safety features depend on RouterOS: rollback uses the RouterOS scheduler, and test devices are chosen by board model. We will only add other vendors once these features are rebuilt for them.

The name

Zacsync, by Zaacsyn

Zaacsyn comes from the founders' initials. Zacsync stands for Zero-Touch Automated Config Sync: enrolment needs only one pasted script, the poller and job engine handle the automation, and backups and the master-to-standby mirror keep configurations in sync.

The product was first named after its high-availability feature, before that feature was finished. We renamed it so the name describes what it does today. Active/standby pairs are now built and tested in a lab.

Become an early user.

We're looking for early users with remote fleets that are hard to reach. Those are the conditions Zacsync is designed for.
